Sooooooooo tired ZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzz.................

I am so tired, some in a good way others, not. The good kind of tired is that I have a really clean kitchen and the kids went to bed ok tonight. I sang Savannah 4 songs instead of the usual 3. She says she doesn't want to sleep in her bed because she gets scared a lot. But she uses that for an excuse for everything, however there are psycho possums that scratch around her window and the trees outside and man they're freaky!!! They make horror movie noises that scare me, let alone a little kid! So I never know when she really is scared and when she's just saying it. So I try to be sensitive at the same time as being firm, not always an easy thing to do. The bad tired is that Meniere's disease is a pain - literally! The head spins have been really bad today and it's so hard to concentrate and be reasonable when I feel like I need to hold onto something for dear life because I'm on a never ending roller coaster of dizziness.

Mahonri had the longest stretch of giggles today so far. I'm very happy also (maybe a bit of pride there I think) that he was looking at me the whold time while I kissed his tummy, but he didn't do it for anyone else. =) He's 5 months old already, but I'm not sure about what to do about solids. I don't know if I should give his tummy more time or if it will be good for him to start. He eye's off food all the time, but on the other hand his digestive system has had a lot of healing to do since the surgery. hmmm, I'll keep thinking of that one.

Our scriptures today were from 3 Nephi 17. I love that chapter, it's where Jesus blesses the children and prays for the people. Savannah likes that aswell and has a good understanding. I'm trying to figure out how to teach her to recognize the Spirit so that when the time comes she can find out the truth of the Gospel for herself.

For scripture reading with the kids I felt it was important to teach them to read daily so we have a chapter during fruit time (so they don't run away =)) and some verses at bedtime as part of the getting-ready-for-bed routine. I also feel it's important to teach the bible as well since I think a lot of people (members of the church and non-members alike) don't really read it enough, and don't know it. I'd rather give my kids all the resources I can so they know where to find the answers to life's questions when they become independant of mind (alright Savannah is very independant already, but she still believes most of what I say - it helps that I don't talk down to her and I always tell her the truth). My system for fruit time scriptures is as follows:

Monday: Book of Mormon day
Tuesday: Old Testament day
Wednesday: Doctrine and Covenants day
Thursday: New Testament day
Friday: Pearl of Great Price/Joseph Smith history day
Saturday: Either standard works scripture of choice or modern day prophets/History of the Church (or Relief society/Priesthood manuals)
Sunday: Same or the Friend magazine or Ensign.
